Lost Tommy

Our cats have recently become inside/outside cats,,they have never ran off and they typically stay pretty close to home.  But then, the unthinkable happened,,,TOMMY was lost.  Tommy is Neela's pride and JOY!!  She loves that cat!!  She did not handle the whole thing well at all!!! All day she would just burst out in tears and I would ask her what was wrong and she would just cry and cry and say, "My Tommy, I want my Tommy!"  It was so awful!  We set out tuna fish, we called his name no less than 1,000 times, searched the house and around the house all morning!
We were all so upset, even Seth (if you can even believe that, haha).
My plan was to make some lost cat signs for him and hang them up after naps, but then right as I was filling up Titus's milk and walking by the door, I saw a car pull up next to the playground across the street from our house and they had a white cat in the car with them!!  I darted out the door with Titus on my hip and saw that the people were laying Tommy on the ground.  Turns out that the young girl that was at the playground the day before with the poptart (that she was sharing with the kiddos and dog, haha)

saw tommy at the playground and didn't realize that he was with us and took him home,,,her mom did not get home til late that night, so she didn't even realize that she had a cat in her ROOM!!  The next morning when the mom found the cat, she made her bring the cat back to where she found him (actually they thought he was a she and been calling him Princess all night!). The mom said she knew the cat was not a stray because the cat was soo nice, pretty and healthy!  Thank God they brought him back!!  I don't know what we would have done!!
When I brought Thomas inside Neela was ECSTATIC!!  She kept saying, "oh thank you, thank you, thank you!!!  I just loves him so much!"  It was the sweetest thing ever!!

She seemed so mature and grown up!  She was so upset about the situation and so HAPPY that he was found!

She did not let this cat get out of her sight for the rest of the day!  She even napped with him!  so sweet!

We are all glad that Tommy is back, we got lucky this time!  We have GOT to get him a tag and collar in case this ever happens again!  We now know that we can not get rid of these cats (especially, Tommy) anytime soon :)

  1. Maybe you could get one of those chip things...collars can be dangerous for outside cats bc it can get caught on stuff and strangle them! But then if you get the breakaway ones they fall off kind of defeating the purpose!
