Off Keppra!!!!

We have now slowly weaned Titus off his Keppra (seizure meds)!!
He has now had two complete days completely off and he is doing GREAT!!
Praise Jesus!

He is not nearly as whiny nor fussy!

He has been adding new words to his vocabulary every.single.day!!!

He is playing much more appropriately with his toys.  Before, he would just kinda wander around the house as if he didn't know how to play.  I have noticed now that he will read books on his own.

and he plays with little toys on his own (appropriately)

he has even started initiating some pottying (ugh, not yet, please!)

We are so happy to see our buddy happy and thriving!  We thank God and YOU all for praying for him and lifting him up!!  We do have a date (August 20th) when to go back to Augusta for his over night stay for a few more tests.  We are still praying about the trip (who should go, etc.), at the moment, I think, just Seth and Titus will go up and stay in the hospital over night.  It makes the most sense for our family.  The test is to make sure that these breath holding spells are not doing any kind of damage to his brain (the spells are NOT, I will speak it!) :)

We are completely overcome Joy and thanksgiving!  I can't even imagine how he must have felt for nearly a year!!  It's sad, it really is.  However, I cannot and will not let myself get mad, angry, frustrated about the situation in the past. Nothing good will come of it. Plus, we have always drawn close to God when we had questions concerning Titus and we felt like this was the right path.  It's hard not to feel like in a way we were "robbed" of a year of his life, but you just never really know what is ahead.  I would not change anything because we may not be where we are now and where we are right now in our lives for our family is EXACTLY where we know that the Lord will have us to be!!!!  And that feels like the most amazing thing EVER!!!!

  1. Omgoodness Crissy! Rachel had breath holding spells beginning at 10 months and was put on phenobarbital for seizures. Once they determined that it was only "breath holding" because she was not getting her way, they took her off Meds and she's been fine ever since. Had NO idea you were having similar issues until I read your blog just now! I also speak that it's only breath holding which will NOT result in any seizure activity or damage to your precious little boy! Love to you all!
