Neela Grace's 3rd Birthday Party

This past Saturday we had Miss Neela Grace's 3rd birthday party!
This little munchkin kept changing her party theme 999 times, so we kinda waited until last minute to make it concrete (because we figured she would change her mind again, and she did!).
She decided on a Dumbo theme and she wanted ice cream instead of cake.

We somehow just *happened to have enough "costumes" to dress as the characters from the movie:

Neela was Dumbo (we borrowed this costume)

Olive was the little mouse

Titus was the ring master:

Stevie Joy and I were the Fire fighter circus clowns:

Seth was one of the black crows (complete with his cigar):

a few more of Neela in her Dumbo costume

The costume was pretty hot and she didn't last long in it (and I didn't blame her, plus it was HER party),,,I put this pretty blue ballerina costume on under her Dumbo costume, so that when she took it off she wouldn't be wearing her "birthday suit" at her party ;)

As guests arrived Seth made little elephant balloon animals for each of the kiddos

me with the birthday girl!

pretty little clown! I love her curls so much!!!

Birdie (White Bird) at the party

fresh flowers (from the yard) to go along with the color scheme

the girls cousin, Catherine, bringing gifts :) she always gives the BEST gifts :)

sculpted balloons are always a hit!

My sweet friend, April, read the DUMBO story to the kids

Titus loving on his Mimi (my mommy)

Neela is my most laid back child by far!
She is generally happy and it doesn't take much to please her.
With that being said, she is not really big on parties?
She may not like crowds? or maybe she doesn't like all the attention?
She wasn't bad or anything like that, but she wasn't her normal self and has never really gotten super excited about them??  At SJ's 4 year old party (which was an outside party) she stayed inside the whole time.
Who knows, she probably changed her mind on her party theme 5 minutes into the party, lol!

My mom made Neela this little DUMBO shirt!  It was so great!!
And worked out so wonderfully whenever she decided to take off her costume

The kids prayed and then....
Pizza time!

Titus swiped the bowl of strawberries!!

Happy Hubs! love it!

some party shots:
(guests kept walking around with my camera, so I had a lot of photos!)

and a lot of "surprise shots" ha!

Kye is getting so big! It's so fun that he has been to every one of my kiddo's birthday parties!
here is him at his very first one (Stevie's one year party)

and look at him now! He is a very very sweet boy, he said a little prayer at the party that melted everyone's hearts!

I KNEW my friend, Emily would love this party because she knows how to make a sundae!!

Seth helped with presents at this party because I was still nursing Rocket
He rocked it!!
the kids loved him so much :)

funny story about this present:  the kids were fighting over this toy in the car so I rolled down my window and threw the toy out the window (so they thought, hahaha)
I wrapped it up and gave it back to her as a joke, they were like, "what!? how did it find its way home!!?" :)

Olive:  "this party is lame, I'm going back to bed!"

Kye is still eating!!!

epic!

ready to go outside

WE LOVE BABIES!!!

lining up at the door!

the last thing we did, was we took the kids outside to play a few games with the circus parachute

it was a HIT!!

Lucy is an official walker now :)

we put candy on the chute to shake it all off!

once all the candy was off, the kids could fill their little take home baggies with CANDY!!!

a few of the guests hung around for a little bit and helped us clean up (and play with Rocket)

I would say the party was a success! Pretty much every kid cried when they had to leave, so that makes it legit right? Neela had fun and felt special and that's what really mattered most to us!!

After naps, we chilled around the house and followed Neela's lead for the rest of the day.  Which meant we ended up staying outside alllll day (poor Seth!).
I went inside to check on the baby and I laughed so hard when I came back out, Seth was tired of fighting the heat, so he just ended up getting IN the kiddie pool, hahaha!  Maybe one day when all our kids can swim (and we can afford it) we will have an inground pool :) Until then, this is how we will roll :)

Happy Birthday Neela Grace!  You make our lives sooooo special and complete because you are here!  We pray everyday over your life and we know that you will be a mighty woman of God and serve Him with all your heart!!  We also pray for your future spouse DAILY, that he is guided in the Lord's wisdom and grace daily, that he is patient and kind with a great sense of humor (it's a must for you honey!)!  We love you girl, you make us so proud to be your parents!!!!!!
