Happy Thanksgiving Blog World

We are enjoying a wonderful Thanksgiving morning so far, although we did save some of our grocery shopping until today,,,and then remembered that the grocery stores are CLOSED, oooops :)

So we are improvising :)  It's what we do best!!

Here is how we woke the kids up this morning:

I seriously love to dress up, haha

 

We made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast (they were going to be turkeys, but they didn't turn out so "turkey like")

yum! they tasted better than they look ;-)

 

We have been playing with this Duckie Manger scene alllll morning long!

I am excited to dress the kiddos up in their pilgrim and indian outfits for Thanksgiving dinner tonight over at Seth's parents house (my parents' Thanksgiving got moved to Saturday lunch time so that my sister could come,,,so fun, spread the Holiday cheer out!)

 

Now we are about to watch the Thanksgiving Parade online and try to find as many of our supplies that we need from a gas station :)  We are so terribly forgetful,,,maybe next year we will be better planners! maybe not :) :)

Getting Ready for Thanksgiving I

Really the biggest thing I am craving for Thanksgiving this year is a Pecan Pie!!  

They are my absolute favorite!!!  Seth hates pecans so I rarely get pecan pie, I cannot eat a whole by myself, well I *can* but shouldn't ;)

This year I took the kiddos out to my parents to pick up some pecans for the pie.

Titus was pretty happy and content as long as he was on my hip, ha! (bending/squatting to get pecans while pregnant, while holding a heavy toddler takes some skillz!)

 

He did enjoy picking up a *little bit, like for 2 minutes :)

 

It was windy, which is why her hair is so crazy!!  there were LOTS of dogs out there on the farm,,my parents' dogs and my cousins' dogs,,,Neela enjoyed chasing dogs more than picking pecans, ha!  When we left Stevie said, "man, papa has a lot of dogs!" I thought it was so cute that she thought that ALL those dogs were HIS!

 

Stevie took the whole thing very seriously, of course!  She loves to picking things (pinecones, picking strawberries, blueberries, etc.) We joke that she would love community service picking trash off the side of the road :-) 

 Yes, she IS wearing a Justin Bieber shirt, and yes, she does enjoy his music (so does Titus, more actually, lol)

Carrying our finished products back to the car, we got a lot,,thankfully my dad came down and helped a little (he was on his way back to work and happen to see us out there) and my sweet cousin, Tori, helped us out a bit,,my back was not too happy with me doing all that bending with Titus in my arms!

Our finished product,,now to shell them all and make the pie,,,,yum yum!

 

I guess pecan picking really wore the kids out, they all took super long naps, and since Seth got off early from work, we were able to relax and enjoy each others' company all afternoon, so nice!

After naps, we went to Chic-Fil-Play (as Stevie calls it) for dinner, and Hobby Lobby for some Christmas lights to put up on the outside of the house the day after Thanksgiving :-)

Also, we drove around to nearly EVERY store in Valdosta (that carries shoes) and I parked the car and sat with the kids while Seth went in looking for me some caramel-colored riding boots similar to these (not Coach, of course):

 I mentioned to Seth that I wanted some and described them to him and he was on a mission, I have such a sweet, romantic hubby! I am typically not a picky person when it comes to things, I mean I buy all my clothes from thrift stores and rarely ever look at the size, if it fits and I like it, I wear it, ha!  However, about these shoes I have a certain "idea" in mind of what I want.  Sadly, no luck in Valdosta :( We are checking online tonight, fingers crossed!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we have SO much to be thankful for, God is so great to our family!!!!

Neela's New Hair Cut

Neela's hair is by far the MESSIEST out of all my kids.  This girl just lives in her own little world half the time!

Exhibit A:

I love her long hair and really don't want to cut it until we decide to donate it to Locks of Love, so this was a nice compromise ;)

I gave her a "Farrah Fawcett" inspired hair cut with layers and all :)

It's always a little sad to see hair on the floor when you're done, it's like a part of her is gone, but I love her new style and I pray it helps!!

Hopefully, no more dread locks to be brushed out of this child's hair anytime soon,ha!

Thanks Seth for Teaching our Child This :)

While playing outside the other day, Seth taught our Stevie Joy how to "spit sticks"!  

This is where she puts little pieces of sticks into a straw and them spits them at me, ha!

She has been doing it ever since and thinks it is so funny,,we modified the game a bit and now use

leaves instead (I don't want someone getting their eye poked with a STICK!!).

Here are the steps:

1-load the amo, 2-spit it through a straw at the target, 3-laugh like crazy, 4-Repeat!!!!

Speaking of Titus,,,here is his mood recently,,,,,

 

He may possibly be upset about his new shoes (we lost his only other pair that fit him!)

funny to be wearing snowman shoes but Mama is laying out, haha,,Gotta love South GA weather!!

 

I was sunbathing while watching the kiddos play and Titus wanted to come lay with me, I looked down and noticed that we had "twin bellies" so I snapped a pic with my phone :)

Thanks Seth for teach Stevie how to do this awesome fun game, haha!  I prefer the leaves over the sticks, I feel safer with her doing it!

And now guess who else is joining in on the fun :)

T is for Tea Party!!

This morning we had a "T" Party!!

Our letter this week is "T" (Thanksgiving)

We love our Tea Parties,,,we make some tea and bake some muffins, set the table, and dig in

 

The girls love this little mini tea party set, they are so silly!  They have to take the tiniest little sips

Eventually, Neela got tired of those tiny little sips, and went for the big measuring cup, haha

We talk in British accents (which they think is so funny) and "try" to act all proper for the moment

Clean up time is always fun, we wash the dishes, dry them, and sort them as we put them away

 

Titus is up from his nap now and the girls are finishing up their independent play time, we are about to go outside and find something fun to do :)

P.S. all these pics were from my phone, so the quality is not that great, but sometimes when we are in the middle of playing, I don't want to compromise the moment by running to get my camera, but I still want to capture some pics so phone camera is a nice compromise ;)

Silkies

Seth snapped this picture of me the other day as I came around the corner (yeah, I think it was like 4:00 in the afternoon, ha!). 

I call these pajamas my "silkies" and I pretty much live in them when I am this far along in pregnancy, poor Seth!

I love the house when it's cold and I am comfy in my silkies, it's a double bonus when one of my kiddos (normally Stevie) will come snuggle up with me and they are in silk pj's too AND they bring their silk blankie for us to cuddle with!!  Can you tell our family likes silk? ;-)

Also, I love "surprise pictures" they really capture the "moment" and real life, what's really going on!  Here you can tell, I am comfy in my silkies, drinking the largest glass of water, and cheezin it like with a look that says, "hmmm, I'd rather be sleeping!"

Character Breakfast

This morning we went to the character breakfast that was held at the Rainwater Conference Center here in town.  Seth worked the event (through our part time job with Bouncin' Balloons and Costumes) and we scored free tickets, so we all got to go.  I asked Seth's parents if they could keep Titus for us because it would have been a LOT of work with him there (he is not a stroller toddler, nor a sit still toddler),,and he would've enjoyed having his mamaw all to himself anyway ;)

After dropping off Titus, we headed over and met up with the Parkers.

Here is how Neela sat the whole time, she was so enthralled with all the characters

All the princesses were really sweet, but Snow White was especially nice with Neela Grace

 

Meeting Cinderella (this is who SJ was most excited about meeting at the breakfast), she did not disappoint, it really helped that she was wearing the same exact dress that Cinderella wore at her bday party

 

I was joking with Zach about getting a picture with Snow White (and she really did, hahaha).

 

I asked Zach to get a pic of me with the girls and it was so funny b/c they would not ever both look and smile at the same time, he kept saying over and over, "I am so sorry" ha, Emily told him that I was use to it, lol

Here comes Daddy (Spiderman)

When we left the house this morning the girls asked daddy why he wasn't riding with us and he told them that he had to go to work, so it was funny when we saw him THERE!!

The girls knew right away that it was him, and Stevie said (laughingly) "Daddy, you not at work????" ha!

I went to check on Neela (still looking at the water) and found Snow White had came over to talk with her, I am telling you Snow White was really sweet with Neela, maybe she reminded her of her when she was little or something??

Santa Mickey and Minnie were there too, also Woody and Buzz, Abby Cadabby, Santa Clause, and a few others, but we didn't get pics with them, Neela needed some assistance while meeting the "full characters".

Us girls had a great time with our "Girls' Morning Out!" and I think Seth enjoyed himself (and made some extra Christmas money, which is always nice) and I KNOW Titus had a blast with Mamaw and Paw!

We are all back home now and kids are napping, we are headed to Cici's Pizza when they wake up for a fun family night ;)
