Today was a Hard Day :'(

Today was a very very hard day!  Titus had a bad seizure, bad, as in he stopped breathing!
The kids have been super sick (Stevie Joy is still getting over her staph infection which the swelling has gone down, but the rash is still continuing to spread, it's on the other side of her face now and on her hands), Neela has a little cold, and Titus has had a cold, bad cough, and fever.  So we did not go to church this morning, we don't like to put our kids in nursery when they are sick we don't want to help spread any yucky germs to other kiddos.  We had our own little church service here, we snuggled around the fire place and read the Bible, prayed, sang songs, did a little "craft", then put on Veggie Tales so the adults could have their own lesson without distractions.
We laid Titus down for his morning nap while the we had our lesson time.  He never did fall asleep, he slept in a bit later than usual this morning because he was up so much last night coughing, so we just assumed he may not take a morning nap, and would instead go down for an early afternoon nap (which worked out good for us b/c we had a birthday party to be at by 3:00).  After our lesson time, we got Titus up and decided to run to the Lake Park outlet since they had men's shirts for .67 cents!!  We figured Seth would just run in and I would sit in the car with the kids, we wanted to get out of the house for a bit (I had been in the house with sick babies alllll weekend and thought this way we could get out, but they wouldn't spread any germs).  This was kind of a spur of the moment thing so we just threw clothes on the kids' bodies and hats on their heads so that
we didn't have to worry about "hair do's".
After we left the GAP we ran through the McDonalds parking drive thru so that we could just feed the kids in the car and then they could go straight to nap time when we came in the door.  Once we got home, Seth brought Titus in and I got the girls in.  Titus was *pretty tired by this point and pretty fussy so Seth was working on getting him down for a nap.  He sat him down for a minute while he went to find his sippy cup.  When he sat him down, Titus got so upset that he had a breath holding episode, which was *right when I walked in with the girls, I immediately scooped him up and started trying to blow in his face (which is what normally snaps him out of it) and calmly talking to him.  I could tell by the look on his face that this one had gone too far, I told Seth to grab the Diastat (liquid valum) and his phone (in case we needed to call 911).  He had already released his bowels and began seizing.
We administered the Valum, and waited for a while, but he just never would continue breathing on his own, and his whole body was clenched and purple/blue!  Seth called 911 and thank GOD we live so close, they were there literally within 2 minutes of the call!!  When you have a purple, non breathing baby every second counts!  We all began praying in flesh and in spirit for our Baby Boy.  (Of course the girls were not praying at this point, they were too busy yelling at us about which episode of Diego they wanted to watch, they were totally oblivious to the whole thing, which is probably a good thing).
The paramedics arrived and said his blood sugar was super high and took Titus in the ambulance to the hospital and they asked us to follow in the car behind them? still not sure why, because last time I was able to ride with him in the ambulance (later I did find out that he had to be intubated so this may have had something to do with it??).  So with our messy house and crazy-haired children we all rode and prayed all the way to the hospital.  I called my parents and Seth's parents to let them know what was going on (and text the mom of the bday party that we were suppose to attend to let her know that we would not be coming, I am so silly).  The sweetest thing in the car was Stevie Joy said, "Wait, Mama, where's Titus?",,I said, "Baby, Titus is in the ambulance, he is really sick, that's why we are going to the hospital",,she said in the sweetest little voice, "No, he's OUR baby, he needs to be riding with US!, he NEEDS to be with us, mama!" This did not help the tears that were already pouring down my face!!
We got to the hospital and thankfully my parents and Seth's parents were very close behind us!  They really helped a lot with prayers and with the girls, it was so nice not to have to worry about them!  Megows took Stevie and Weldon's took Neela Grace.
It was super sad and scary walking into the emergency room seeing your child intubated and lying their helpless!  Really all you can do IS pray, I mean physically there was nothing that I could do for him at that point, they wouldn't even let me in the room with him.  Seth and I had to sit outside the door while docs and nurses ran in and out of the room trying to help him.  Finally after about 15 minutes, but it felt like 15 hours, we were able to come in and see him, he was now breathing on his own, but his body was still really stiff and clenched up.  We sat with him for a while and stroked his pretty, golden locks and wiped away all the tears that kept coming out of his little eyes.  His body finally relaxed and he was calm.
They hospital staff ran a whole bunch of tests on Mr. Titus and then we did the whole "sit and wait" game.  Titus slept on me for a few hours and I very happily held a pink, breathing, heavy, napping baby!!  While waiting we took the time to pray for the man in the bed beside us, who apparently had tried to commit suicide by drinking anti-freeze, very very sad situation!
The doc finally came in a few hours later and said that we were free to go home (whew! we thought for sure we would have to endeavor a hospital night stay, they stink!).  He said that all the tests came back clear and that we need to contact our neurologist in the morning to have his blood levels checked and that he may need a higher dose of his seizure medicine or to switch his meds.
We came home around 5:00 and tried to feed Titus dinner but he was too tired to eat, he did drink a little milk and took his regular meds and went straight to bed.  Seth and I just kinda sat here like zombies, emotionally drained zombies.  This was so much to go through in one day!  I describe the situation like it's as if seeing your child get shot or get hit by a car, it's THAT scary,,but at least you know if your child gets shot or hit by a car the odds in ever having to witness that again are pretty slim!  the odds in us seeing Titus seize like this again are kinda high :'(   Praise the Lord that he is okay now, that we have such a great support system, that we know the Lord, and that we have each other!!
We plan to call the neuro in the morning and to continue to pray pray pray for our son and believe believe believe that the Devil will NOT win here and that Titus WILL do great things in his lifetime here on this Earth!!  If you would like to help in any way, please pray this with us for our sweet, little man :)  He is the world to us and we love him so much!
