Kind of out of order here, but oh well :)
Get ready for a crazy cat story....
So Saturday night in the middle of the night, Seth hears our cat Yucky making these weird noises up in the loft to the master bedroom. So he climbs up the stairs to the loft to find Yucky in the bassinet with our baby (side note: our baby sleeps up there due to space), not a huge deal, but he wanted her out of there, so he grabs her and pulls her out and she starts scratching on the side of the bassinet NOT wanting to come out!! So he basically yanked her and pulled her really hard out of the bassinet and was like, "Get the heck out of there, Yucky!" and threw her (not hard, breathe animal rights people, breathe, hahaha!), anyways as he tosses her across the room he sees this baby kitten attached to an umbilical cord go flying across the room WITH Yucky!
OMG she is in labor!!!! ON OUR BABY!!!
So he quickly picks Olive up, puts her in the bed with me, and literally pulls my boobie out and plops it in her mouth (bear in mind I am still asleep this whole time!). He said he was like hitting me and yelling at me but that I would not wake up!!
He goes back up the loft to check on Yucky and her kittens/labor. She was doing great as far as he could tell.
He finally wakes me up and all three of us move to the couch and give Yucky the room for some peace during her laboring :)
The next morning was Mother's Day morning (how cool is it that she became a mommy for the first time on mother's day). We went back and forth who would go into check on the babies (it was her first litter so we were preparing ourselves to possibly lose kitties). However, they were all healthy. 5 baby kitties :)
We were so excited to show the kids:
Going up the loft
The were sooo pumped!!!!!!
still a little messy
(don't worry, we just gave her the bassinet, people keep asking me if I am going to bleach it and use it again, ha, no! Olive was about to grow out of it anyway)
so sweet
One of our friends said, "How cool is it that Olive had cats delivered ON her?, Not many people could say that!"
Now Olive has yet another nick name, lately we have been calling her "Cat Woman"!!
Crissy that is hilarious to me that Yucky felt so comfortable with Olive that she decided to give birth in her bassinet...with her in it! Good thing Seth went to check on her!
ReplyDeleteI know, this cat is seriously sooo laid back! yes, I am totally so thankful that Seth went and checked :)
