Twin Lakes (Homeschool style)!

I love that I have found a group of girl friends that have relatively a large amount of small kiddos, live close to me, on the same "spiritual" page as me, super fun, AND plan to home school like me :)
When we get together we have 10 kiddos between us 3 women!
It's a bit chaotic, we handle it all with grace and charm ;)
Liz lives on the lake and has been carless for quite some time now (her car is in the shop, she's not some weird Holiness chic, welllll she kinda is).

Here are some lake pics from a few weeks ago (blogger loaded them in a weird order and I am too lazy to change it, ha!):

Sam "rescuing" Neela, she loves playing the whole "damsel in distress" gig, hahaha

Fearless leaders (and baby in tote, love it)

How cool is Liz, she has pet ducks in her back yard to feed all the bread that we were suppose to make PB&J sandwiches with for lunch,,,ooops ;)

I love our fun days on Tuesdays!  It's a  nice break to get out of the house and be with some fun women and their sweet babies!  Some day soon we will all be adopting together and home schooling together.  Just enjoying life, living life together :)

A Week of Firsts!

This has been a big week in the Megow house this week:

Big girl started grabbing her toes for the first time this week

she's semi serious about it :)

She got her own room for the first time
Pretty durn happy about it :)

Olive went swimming in a big pool for the first time, she LOVED it and squealed with delight the entire time!

Titus rocked his pigtails for the first time, Seth said it was "over the line"

so now he just has one pony tail :)

Neela, for the first time, started making her "Diva" face, we *may* be in trouble ;)

Stevie Joy, for the first time, didn't make it all the way through the night at a friends' house, I think it was because she had him stay the night with her the night before, and she was just over tired? poor thing, when I picked her up I asked her why she didn't want to stay and she said, "Well, I was tired and Sam's mom was taking too long to put me to bed AND they didn't have the right kind of milk!" ha, hilarious!

Me, for the first time (in a LONG time), got to hang out with my sweet, pretty, FUN friend, April, without  kids!  It was amazing!  We felt so young and fancy free!!! It was just like old times, we even got ready together over at her place and wore coordinating outfits (twin backpacks and all, ha!).  We went and heard some bands play and danced the night away!  I am already looking forward to our next outing!!

A first for Mr. Megow is that he got Adobe CS6  and he is HOOKED! like, going on 12 hours of sleep hooked!

We are headed to the beach this week, so it will be another first for Olive.  Also, we are sleeping a family of 6 in a 2 bedroom condo, it will be interesting and FUN!!!! We are so pumped!

Camping with the Weldons

I love being outside, even with the awful gnats, there is just something I love about being outside doing fun things!  So when my parents asked us to go camping with them I was so pumped! My sister was also there with her boyfriend and his kids.
We decided it would be easier and I would be able to stay longer without Titus (he cannot really skip his nap and be happy about it just yet).  Olive is a boobie baby, so she HAD to come with me (plus, I would miss her and it was not worth using hard earned pumped milk for, and Seth doesn't do babies well, lots of reasons that Ollie was with me :)  Taking the two big girls is really not much harder than just taking one (I LOVE their ages, things are so easy with them now!).  So, I ended up taking 3 girls with me and Seth and Titus went to church with Nannie :)

We camped at Yogi Park, and it was a lot of fun.  They have a man made beach, nature trails, four wheeler trails, water slides, put put, movie theater, and ICE CREAM, need I say more? ;)  And you should KNOW that it was my mission to partake in the ALL!
We had a blast!!  I didn't take much pictures while we were out and about, because it was just too much to keep up with my camera and enjoy myself.
I did get a chance to take some at the camper.

Big girl chillin' eat some Doritos!

This face cracks me up

I wanted to get a few pics of my Mama with the girls :)

I was even able to convince my Daddy to get in (he is not a camera person, ha I did NOT get that from him) hahaha

all the girls (minus my sister, who I guess was out fishing or something?)

Oh yeah and they also had face painting, Stevie got Angry Birds painted on her face, and Neela got a cat, but she got up in the middle of the girl painting it so it didn't really turn out

My Daddy had Olive cracking up!!

The girls and I really enjoyed ourselves and were so thankful to my parents for inviting us along!

Family Dinner

Seth's parents came for a visit this past week and we were soooo excited to have them over for dinner.
A really sweet friend of mine, Nicole, brought over some lasagna from a nice restaurant here in town (she didn't get around to bringing food when Olive was born), the timing worked out perfectly, because the food was very yummy and there was enough of it to feed everyone :)

Miss Olive had pink eye so I was keeping her away from everyone (as much as possible) all day

In preparation for the meal, I asked Uncle Thad if we should make some dessert (I was thinking cookies or something simple), he replied back with, "How about we make some butterscotch birds' nests"
Love it!

Stevie Joy loved them, because 1-the reminded her of Angry Birds' bird nests and 2-she danced in a bird's nest for her dance class and 3-they were YUMMY!

another shot of the bird nests (yogurt raisins inside), they were really good (you make them with chow mein noodles, super cool)

Neela was a "gymnast/animal doctor" for the family dinner :)

typical

Since the whole family was together, we thought this would be a good time to do our "song" for Uncle Thad (who is moving soon, sad face)
The kids and I made these little card board signs for them to hold during the song to help them with the words
It was cute and fun :)

The dinner went great and the kids LOVED seeing their Mamaw and Paw.  I wanted so badly to get a picture of both of them holding all of their grandbabies, but we decided to do it at the recital when everyone would be dressed up, and well it didn't happen, oh well, maybe next time ;)
We were happy to have them here and hope they come back again soon.
